SUMMER FLAVOURS INCLUDED ARE:
IT'S SO HOT OUTSIDE YOU COULD FRY AN EGG ON THE SIDEWALK
[tastes like] sesame street. a coconut sesame street.
black sesame & coconut cookie dough + a gummy fried egg
ok, this is a weird one. but we love it.we love the flavour combo.we love that the theme is urban AND outdoorsy.we love that it is extremely summery in its service as a reminder of how stinkin' hot that sun can get, blasting on concrete all day long. until it's too hot to stand on with bare feet. *sizzle*we love that barely-there-you-almost-forgot-it-counts-as-cooking culinary activity that is sidewalk eggs - a classic summer activity. (albeit not traditionally associated with dessert.)and...we love that we got to make a cookie dough that really does kinda look like a sidewalk.
[tastes like] the girl-next-door made you a basket of lemon blueberry muffins.
lemon cookie dough + zingzang lemon curd + wild blueberry preserves
move over lemon + blueberry cheesecake.
lemon + blueberry scones, please.
lemon + blueberry pancakes, step aside.
lemon + blueberry muffins - you're soooo last week.
lemon + blueberry bundt cake, give it up.
(ok...we love all those too)
lemon + blueberry cookie dough is the new kid in town.
[tastes like] pink swimmingo kool-aid. straight out of 1992. look it up.
watermelon cherry swirl + pink lemonade twirl + pink rock sugar sprinkles
it was a toss-up between two old-school fave flavours: pink swimmingo OR purplesaurus rex.
talk about some sleepless nights.
do you remember? when you were 7ish years old?
the satisfying sound of tearing open that little problematic little packet of paper+foil+plastic and pouring its powdery contents into your mom's faithful 4 litre plastic pitcher. and adding a full one-cup measure of white sugar.
and then, the water. always just a few drops at first to watch the seemingly pale granulated mixture EXPLODE with colour the second it was hit with a drop. and then you'd fill it to the top of the pitcher, stirring with a tomato-sauce stained wooden spoon until you couldn't hear the little bitties of sugar scraping along the bottom anymore.
*fills a very big glass - because it is a very hot day*
most certainly not a nutritionally nutritious activity.
but turns out it was an emotionally nutritious activity.
LIVIN' THE DREAM SICLE
[tastes like] being 5 and skipping along with your creamy orange popsicle and not caring that it's melting all down your arm.
orange creme cookie dough + creamsicle ripple + vanilla cheesecake pieces
life is good, and you're doing great.
you live the dream every day. you enjoy the little things, you smell the roses, you notice the sunshine. that's what makes happy happen.
and sometimes, you get to enjoy a creamy orangey treat.
see? life is good.
PRINCESS PEACH ON THE BEACH
[tastes like] homemade peach crumble. except the cabana boy made it this time instead of your mom.
vanilla spice cookie dough + rum spiked peaches + toasted coconut crumble
even the princess and ruler of mushroom kingdom needs a vacation every once in a while. peach does it right and takes a break from all those nintendo toads by kicking back on the beach with an appropriately beachified treat.
BACK YARD CAMPFIRE
[tastes like] s'mores. and a visit from bylaw. worth it.
milk chocolate cookie dough + handmade mallow + buttered graham + milk chocolate pieces
those girl guides know what's up. we know you want those gooey sweet toasted-up treats all summer long. this scratches the itch - and no need to rent a campsite. or start a fire. or get too sure of your self and catch your mallow on fire. or get grass all stuck in the sticky that's all stuck to your fingers and have to figure out how to get it off without soap and running water.
